Flexibility Without Stretching

Flexibility without Stretching is an eight week series that will focus on shoulder, back and hip flexibility. Using gentle movements based on the Feldenkrais approach, Debby Gross (Massage therapist and Feldenkrias Practitioner) will lead us into moving in easier and more flexible arcs so that all of our classes and exercises can be done with less injury to our joints and more effective work-outs.   This class is open to all Y members, free of charge, who are able to sit on a mat and stand without assistance. It is beneficial to all levels of fitness. Please sign up at the front desk. Space is limited, so reserve yours today!

Women on Weights

Women on Weights

Weight training offers incredible benefits for a woman’s muscular and skeletal development. But many women simply don’t know where to start. W.O.W is an introductory group weight training session led by our personal trainers. Learn proper technique, safety, etiquette and three levels of weight training and resistance exercises over this six week session. Each class will not exceed ten participants, so you will have personal attention while in a supportive group setting.

Fees: $75 for members, $100 for program participants
Ages: 16 & up

TRX Training

TRX Training

Get a fast, effective, total body workout with our new TRX suspension training!

TRX Suspension straps use your body weight to provide resistance.  There are hundreds of moves that can be performed in TRX that hit every muscle group of the body.  New classes start in January. This 6-week class features the latest in strength training technology.  Each small 4 participant class offers individual attention by a certified personal trainer.

Fees: $75 (must be a member)
Sessions: Mon. & Wed. 6 – 7 PM OR Tues. & Thurs. 6 – 7 PM
Registration: Begins January 2, online or in person


Personal Fitness Orientations

New to fitness? We’re here for you.  Every member at the Y gets a Personal Fitness Orientation when he or she joins.  You’ll meet with a member of our fitness staff and learn how to get started towards a healthier life.  You’ll learn the basics of operating the fitness equipment and we’ll answer your fitness questions.  Personal Fitness Orientations are complimentary and can be scheduled at the Welcome Center, so stop by today and schedule yours.

Fitness Assessments

Want more data on your base fitness before you start your journey? Our Health & Wellness team can help with that! A Fitness Assessment will give you data on your current cardiovascular endurance, body composition, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. It’s a great way to establish a starting point for getting fit and staying well! Fitness assessments are $10 for members and $20 for program participants. Appointments can be made at the Welcome Center.

Personal Training

If you need a little more encouragement to stick to your fitness goals or if you’re ready for a bigger challenge, check out our Personal Training program and discover a new way to reach your fitness goals.  For an additional charge, you’ll meet with a certified personal trainer and work together to develop a fitness program customized for your specific fitness goals.

Your trainer will create and supervise each workout with tips and safety techniques. Each session lasts either 1 hour or 30 minutes depending on the package you purchase. We recommend participants train two to three times a week for best results. Stop by the Welcome Center to set up a personal training consultation today.

Group Exercise

Treadmills and dumbells not your thing?  We understand.  Don’t forget about our group fitness classes.  From Yoga to Cycling, Pilates to Zumba, there’s a class to fit every interest.  We offer a variety of land and water based fitness classes each week and most are included in your membership.  We know that not everyone is an expert, so most classes are designed for all skill levels.  And we know that living a healthy life starts early, so many of our classes are open to members beginning at middle school age.  For a list of our weekly schedule group exercise classes, please view our Group Exercise Schedule.

Specialized Classes

In addition to our regular group exercise classes, we occasionally add a special class to introduce participants to new activities or give them a chance to experience a favorite. From Latin Dance to Hula Hooping and everything in between, we’re always working on the next fun activity for you.

Tang Soo Do Martial Arts

Ages: 6 & up

Tang Soo Do Martial Arts is of Korean origin and teaches empty hand and foot fighting forms, self defense and weapons. It also stresses a balance of spirit, mind and body and promotes self-discipline, confidence and physical fitness.

Members: $40 per month
Program Participants: $70 per month
