Building a Better Tomorrow
We Build People
At the Y, we believe that in order to bring about meaningful change, we all need ongoing encouragement. We’re here day in and day out to provide resources needed by the community to address the most pressing social issues – from childhood obesity to graduation rates.
A YMCA Family
Colin and Emily began attending Summer Camp every summer with help from the Y’s Open Doors Scholarship program. And now Colin and Emily are giving back. As counselors at Camp Clearwater and in their personal lives, they’re sharing the values they learned at the Y with a whole new generation of campers and with their peers. Click the movie to see Colin and Emily’s story.
Impacting Our Community
But it’s only through the support of the community that we can empower every child, adult and family to achieve healthy, confident and connected lives. Our movement is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Ages: 6 months – Adult
At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill for everyone. In swim lessons, we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meet swimmers at their own level and celebrate all successes. By educating and partnering with swimmers, we’re determined to prevent drowning in our community.
