Current Job Openings for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA


Our Chapel Hill branch is hiring certified lifeguards! If you are an energetic, friendly and dedicated lifeguard who takes pride in being a first responder then come on down. Pay rate ranges from $8-$9 per hour based on experience and you get a Y membership as a bonus! Hours are flexible and you can work as little as 5 hours per week or as many as 35 hours per week.

Member Services

If you’re an enthusiastic “people person” then the Y has a place for you at our Welcome Center! We currently have part-time openings on our Member Services Team.  At our Welcome Center, you’ll be the master of multitasking all the time.  From giving tours and welcoming members, answering phone calls to registering members for programs, you’ll be the first step in our Members’ experiences.  Delivering perfect customer service is vital, and delivering the Y experience is your most important task.  If you love a fast pace, if you like people, and you’re quick on your feet, this could be a match made in heaven.

Child Watch

When the kids are happy, everyone is.  That’s how we see it in Child Watch.  When our members come to work out, go for a swim, or play some hoops, the little ones need a place to be.  That’s where Child Watch comes in.  If you love kids, can set a parent’s mind at ease and simply want to get paid to play (and look after little ones safely) Child Watch is for you.  We’re looking for someone to work part-time in our Child Watch area!

Swim Lesson Instructors

The Y is hiring Swim Lesson Instructors! Experience is preferred but if you are a natural teacher, have swam on a swim team we are will to train you to teach our Y Swim Lesson Program for Preschool and Youth.  Times and days of lessons vary by season so check out our most recent swim lesson registration form to get an idea of when we offer lessons. Pay rate ranges from $8-$9 per hour based on experience and you get a Y membership as a bonus!  All interviews involve a water skills test so be prepared!

Welcome Center Staff

Early riser? Like people? Enjoy a good chat? We’re looking for people simply enjoy getting to know others.  Our Welcome Center is the beginning and end of our interactions with members and the staff there are the key to our members’ experiences.  You’ll be the face of our Y and will make the first and most lasting impression on our members.  A smile, a positive outlook, the desire to make everyone’s day and unbridled energy are a must! Various shifts are available, so don’t miss out!

Current Job Openings for the YMCA at Meadowmont


The Y is looking for lifeguards for our indoor pool and our outdoor pool at Meadowmont. If you’re certified as a lifeguard through the American Red Cross or the Y of the USA and want to help deliver the mission of the Y to members and participants daily, we’ve got a spot for you! Shifts begin as early as 5:30 am and go as late as 9:30 pm. Call or stop by the Y to find out more.

Swim Lesson Instructors

Certified as a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or a Y Swim Lesson Instructor?  Want to help teach kids and adults the core values of the Y and the life saving skills that swim lessons provide? If you’ve got patience, enjoy working with groups, and a glowing smile, this may be the perfect job for you!
